Steps
- Sign in on the web and go to Manage your plan on your account page.
- Select Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
- Premium stays on until your next billing date, then the account switches to Spotify's free tier.
Good to know
- Cancelling during a $0 free trial switches you to the free tier at once, and the trial can't be restarted.
- Duo or Family: only the plan manager can cancel the plan. If a member follows the steps, it removes that member from the plan but doesn't cancel the plan.
- No option to change or cancel? Your plan is billed through a partner such as a phone or internet provider. Under Manage your plan, check Payment for the partner's contact link.
- Spotify also accepts a cancellation form, linked from its cancel help page.
Offers you may see before you leave
- Switch to free instead. Your playlists and saved music stay, with ads. This is where every cancelled account ends up.
- Change plans. Spotify points you to its plan-change guide. Student is $6.99/mo if you qualify.
- Price-update grace period. Spotify emails you before a price increase and gives a one-month grace period to cancel before the new price applies.
