CancelHound

Terms of Use (draft)

DRAFT. For review only, not in effect, and not legal advice. To be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.

Draft date: Oct 15, 2026. Validation-phase version: covers the website, the newsletter, and the paid-plan waitlist only.

1. Who we are

CancelHound ("we", "us") runs this website and the CancelHound newsletter. In these terms, "you" means anyone who visits the site or signs up.

2. What we offer right now

The price-hike tracker, the cancel playbooks, and the newsletter are free. Plus and Pro are not available yet. Joining the waitlist ("Notify me") is free, creates no account, and commits you to nothing. We do not take payments and do not accept statement uploads during this phase.

3. Information only

Our content is general information, not financial or legal advice. We check prices and steps by hand and date each check, but services change prices and cancellation steps without notice. Always confirm on the service's own site before acting. Using a playbook or a prefilled email doesn't make us your agent, and we don't contact services for you.

4. Trademarks

Service names belong to their owners and are used only to identify the services we write about. We are not affiliated with them.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the site: no scraping that degrades it, no attempts to break its security, and no signing up other people without their permission. You may quote and link to our content with attribution.

6. Emails

Newsletter subscribers get the newsletter. Waitlist subscribers get one email when the plan they chose opens. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we honor it promptly.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The site and newsletter are provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses caused by relying on our content, including prices or steps that changed after we checked them.

8. Changes

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter.

9. Governing law

Placeholder: governing law and venue to be set once the operating entity is formed.
